Building Resilience Measures to Mitigate the Impact of Drought and Floods in the SSA Region
The purpose of this conference is therefore to explore various interventions that the SSA region can adopt to effectively prepare and respond to emergencies of drought and floods. To do so, there is need for risk assessment in terms of gauging the social-economic impact of these disasters including impact on economic growth, inflation, fiscal pressures, and health, review the potential of the country’s infrastructure systems, structures and institutions in mitigating the impact of these disasters, and to formulate resilience measures to respond to and recover in the wake of disasters.
