CALL FOR PAPERS
Hyderabad, India, December 16, 2020, 9:00 am – 7:00 pm Indian Standard Time
The Bright Internet Global Summit (BIGS) will be held as a virtual workshop in the time zone of Hyderabad, India on December 16, 2020. The meetings for BIGS 2020 in the morning are dedicated to practical industry experts and policy makers and open to non-AIS members. These sessions will provide an interactive forum by bringing together leading academics, practitioners, and policy makers to discuss the critical issues of today’s Internet and possible means and business models to realize the next generation of a trusted and safe Internet, including the Bright Internet Initiative and other approaches for preventive cybersecurity paradigm and business development.
As a post-ICIS workshop, the academic track for BIGS 2020 will be held as a virtual workshop from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm and is dedicated to academic research paper presentations and discussion and open to AIS members. The afternoon sessions will be presented in cooperation with the AIS Special Interest Group on Information Security and Privacy (SIGSEC). The workshop will feature a keynote talk by Dr. Reinhard Scholl, Deputy to the Director – International Telecommunication Union – Telecommunication Standardization Bureau.
This call for papers for the academic track in the afternoon invites original research articles addressing a broad coverage of technical, managerial, economic, and policy solutions towards developing the Bright Internet and Trust, with emphasis on preventive cybersecurity and global trust building. Papers may employ any applicable IS research method (case study, survey, analytical modeling, experiments, computational models, design science, and so forth). High quality and relevant papers from this workshop will be selected for fast-tracked development towards the special issue of Information Systems Frontiers (ISF) on “Bright Information and Communication Technologies in the 21st Century”. ISF is an international refereed journal that is ranked “A” by ABDC list and indexed in major databases (e.g., SCI, SCIE, ABI/INFORM Global), with the five-year impact factor 4.016 in 2019.

Submission Guidelines and more Information
All submitted papers undergo a double-blind peer-review process. Please submit your papers using our conference submission system located at https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=bigs2020. All submissions should be in Microsoft Word using the workshop template only (found on the submission website), with no author names or other identification in the manuscript file, including removal of document properties and tracked changes (blind the submission, please). Please use the BIGS2019 style for your paper and references (also shown on the submission template available at http://www.brightinternet.org). Completed research and case study papers should be limited to 15 pages. Research-in-progress papers should be limited to 8 pages. Extended abstracts (2-3 pages) are welcome. The accepted papers will be presented through Zoom meeting on Dec. 16th during the research paper section of BIGS 2020 and detailed presentation guidelines will be provided later.
