Another year in which the Biocomputation and Physics of Complex Systems Institute (BIFI) of the University of Zaragoza strives to provide the scientific community, both local and abroad, the chance to disseminate their work, and to strengthen existing collaborations or establish new ones within the different research lines promoted by this research centre.
The Organizing and Scientific committees of the IX International Conference BIFI 2020 have developed a scientific program with national and international invited speakers that we think is very exciting and attractive. We would like to encourage you to join us and be part of this new edition. We will be pleased to welcome you in Zaragoza by February 3rd-5th, 2020.
The format of the congress will include plenary sessions, wherein a number of selected contributed talks will be also scheduled, as well as two sessions for poster presentations. Young and not so young researchers from any institution are warmly invited to attend the meeting, and submit scientific communications related to the Main Tracks of the event.
Important note: We could limit the attendees number due to a capacity issue at the conference rooms, so that, if necessary, we might reject applications to participate.
Submission Guidelines
Abstracts
You should submit a Word document (two pages maximum) with an abstract of up to 250 words (you can download a template in the official website).
Instructions must be followed strictly and those not conforming to the required format will be disqualified. Submissions are required to include the following information:
- Title of the contribution
- Author(s) name(s) and affiliation(s)
- The corresponding author(s)
- E-mail address(es)
- Abstract
- At least 3 Keywords
Note: Bibliography is not needed and papers' first page or similar will not be accepted.
Short Oral Communications and Posters
Nine abstracts of all those submmited will be selected for Short Oral Communications (12 minutes + 3 question minutes). This selection will not prevent the presentation of the work also in the form of a Poster and therefore will allow the author to opt for one out of the two Student Poster Awards granted for this presentation modality. Thus, at the end of the submitted Word document you should indicate your preference for one of the following categories to present your research:
- Only Short Oral Talk (12 min + 3 question minutes)
- Short Oral Talk (12 min + 3 question minutes) + Poster
- Only Poster (A0 size)
Submissions will be evaluated and selected by the Program Committee. Once the selection process is complete, submitters of accepted abstracts will be notified by e-mail (no later than January 17th, 2020) to indicate them the presentation modality they have been selected for.
Poster Awards
The CerTest Biotec company will grant two Student Poster Awards for the best posters presented at the conference by students.
Student Poster Awards will be offered, and the ranking will be decided by the Poster Prize Committee BIFI 2020. The Poster Prize Committee will evaluate the quality of the posters using the following criteria:
- Scientific Quality
- Originality
- Clarity
- Self-explanatory
- Poster Design
CerTest Biotec poster prizes available are:
First Prize: € 300
Second Prize: € 200
