Today, the agri-food industry is facing many challenges like food safety & security, demand & supply gaps, product quality & traceability issues, etc. These challenges need to be predicted and controlled rather than reacting & responding, as people are getting more concerned and aware about their health. In the modern scenario, data-enabled smart technologies can show a complete paradigm shift towards a safe, resilient, responsive, and eventually profit-driven supply chain system. To cope up with such challenges in the agri-food industry, smart, resilient and sustainable supply chain practices are the need of the hour. In view of the mentioned issues, the book focuses on data-enabled smart digital technologies, viz. blockchain, smart packaging, artificial intelligence, internet-of-things, big data, RFID, etc., and smart supply chain operations through research studies, empirical analysis and few case studies indicating how digital technologies can transform the agri-food industry's conventional practices more sustainably.
Submission Guidelines
All papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal/conference/book. The following paper categories are welcome:
- Full papers:
- Before submission, please make sure that the work aligns with this 'Call for Chapters', and the study should have been conducted for the Agri-Food Sector.
- The plagiarism/similarity in your submitted work should be below 10% (including all sources, repositories, etc., and without excluding word count).
- If excerpts from copyrighted works (including websites) such as illustrations, tables, animations, or text quotations are included in your manuscript, please obtain permission from the copyright holder (usually the original publisher) for both the print and online format.
- Further, the chapter should be submitted as a single PDF file.
- Total word count should be in the range of 5000 to 7000, including references, appendix, tables, etc.
- All chapters will be subject to a double-blind rigorous review process, by a minimum of two independent reviewers, under the supervision of the Editors.
