CALL FOR PAPERS
The 10th Aotearoa New Zealand Organisational Psychology and Organisational Behaviour Conference will take place at Auckland University of Technology on Friday 26th November 2021.
The Conference will run on 26th November from 9am for morning tea/coffee and networking, and then run through to approximately 5:30pm. Exact times will depend on the final programme. Refreshments will be provided throughout the day, including a full lunch and a drinks and nibbles networking event at the end of the day.
Intended Participants, Content, and Aims
We welcome practitioners, academics, and postgraduate students working on topics in, or related to, organisational/work psychology and organisational behaviour. We would like this event to be inclusive.
The aim of the conference is for organisational / work psychology and organisational behaviour researchers and practitioners to get together and discuss their research. More specifically, the aims of this conference are to:
- Provide a forum to share current research being conducted in Aotearoa/New Zealand
- Develop and maintain an inclusive community of organisational psychology and organisational behaviour researchers and practitioners.
A range of papers will be accepted that fit under the term “research”, including but not limited to: conceptual papers, empirical studies, and interesting cases.
You are welcome to attend solely as a delegate (registration link below) or also submit a long abstract for consideration to attend also as a presenter (please also use the abstract submission link below).
Venue
The conference will take place at the Auckland University of Technology. A map will be sent to you with confirmation of your registration. The closest parking is either the Civic carpark beneath Aotea Square or the Wilson carpark on Wakefield Street.
Abstracts and Peer Review Process
- Please submit your abstract online to:

- The format for abstracts is provided on the last page of this document. Please follow this format. The submission deadline is midday Friday 17th September.
- You may appear on more than one abstract (e.g., if you are supervisor to multiple students submitting on different papers), but you may only present once (this is to ensure that we represent a diversity of presenters).
- If you submit an abstract, you will also be expected to blind peer review two abstracts and provide timely and constructive feedback that can be sent directly to the submitting author(s).
- Your own abstract will be peer-reviewed and reviewers’ constructive feedback returned to you.
Timeline
- The deadline for submissions of your abstract is midday Friday the 17h September 2019.
- Abstracts will be sent out for review early the following week.
- Please return your own reviews of other authors’ abstracts into the online EasyChair system by midnight Sunday 3rd October 2019.
- We will return reviewer feedback to you, along with a decision regarding your presentation on or before Friday 15th October.
- The conference programme will be developed at this time. Presenters, please register and let us know as soon as possible after acceptance about any travel arrangements we need to fit around (e.g., not scheduling you for an early or late presentation if you are flying into or out of Auckland on the day of the conference).
- Presenters must register for the conference before Friday the 5th November 2019
- A draft conference programme will be available from Tuesday the 9th November 2019
- All delegates must register for the conference by midday Tuesday the 16th November 2019
Costs
The total conference cost is $100 per person including GST; we have made every effort to keep this conference accessible to all by keeping costs down. We believe the conference is great value with high quality and engaging presentations, networking opportunities at morning and afternoon tea, as well as lunch and a drinks and nibbles function at the end of the day.

A schedule of speakers and topics will be provided to delegates on arrival at the conference.

Cancellation
If you are unable to attend the conference, we can give a full refund up until Friday 19th November when we will have ordered and paid for the catering.
If the conference is unable to proceed temporarily due to pandemic restrictions affecting Auckland, we have a back-up date of Thursday 2nd December. The same cut-off date of Friday 19th November applies for refunds.

Abstract submission guidelines
Abstracts must be submitted online, and uploaded in the following format:
Abstracts must be submitted in English.
Abstracts should be approximately 900 words (not more than two pages, 12 point font).
The abstract should clearly state the:

- Title
- Topic, key research question, or focus of the project (at least 100 words and no more than 500 words)
- Method (or “Key Propositions” for conceptual papers) (at least 100 words and no more than 300 words)
- Results/Findings, along with implications and/or application (at least 100 words and no more than 300 words)
Abstracts must be text only, and you should list references at the end if in-text references are used.
The author(s) name and contact information should not appear anywhere in the pdf abstract you submit, so that you submission can be reviewed “blind”.
Contact information for all author/s; including name, affiliation and email addresses must be entered during the online abstract submission.
Note that we are using the online EasyChair submission programme. For this, you need to first register on the system – step 1, choosing “create an account”. Then in step 2 you can go back into the system to submit your abstract. Reviews will also be conducted via EasyChair – that will be step 3 that you will complete a few weeks following submission.
