We invite submissions for the 14th Aceh International Workshop and Expo on Sustainable Tsunami Disaster Recovery (AIWEST-DR 2022) under the theme of “Inclusive and Integrated Disaster Risk Reduction”. The conference aims to bring together academics and practitioners to share lessons and recent advances in multi-hazard disaster risk reduction, providing an interdisciplinary platform to further disaster scholarship and practice. This year's conference coincides with the Midterm Review of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction and we encourage submissions that reflect on the progress of its implementation. AIWEST-DR 2022 will be offered in a hybrid format, allowing presenters and participants to engage through attendance either online or in-person on the University of Sydney campus in Australia.
Submission Guidelines
All papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference. We welcome submissions in the following forms:
- Abstract and Presentation – Abstract submission only, subject to peer review.
- Paper and Presentation – Abstract and full paper submission required, subject to peer review.
We encourage participants to use abstract-only submissions to share and receive feedback on early-stage research. At least one author must register to attend the conference and present submissions (either in person or online).
The conference will have four thematic tracks that align with the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction. These include:
- Priority 1: Understanding disaster risk.
- Priority 2: Strengthening disaster risk governance to manage disaster risk.
- Priority 3: Investing in disaster risk reduction for resilience.
- Priority 4: Enhancing disaster preparedness for effective response and to “Build Back Better” in recovery, rehabilitation, and reconstruction.
Please see the Abstract and Paper Submission for further details.
