On behalf of the Colour Committee of Spain (CEC), we are thrilled to welcome researchers, artists, scientists, and industry professionals from around the globe to the AIC 17th Congress in Valencia, from October 4 to 8, 2027. Our guiding theme for this congress is "Color Matters Matter!" This phrase was chosen for its profound dual meaning. First, it asserts the undeniable truth that color fundamentally matters—it is a vital, pervasive force that shapes our daily lives, influencing how we perceive our environments, process our emotions, and interact with the world around us. Second, it signifies our dedication to exploring the myriad of matters—the vast array of disciplines, challenges, and innovations—where color plays a central role. We are proud to host the AIC 17th Congress in the Higher Technical School of Architecture (ETSA) of the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV), recognized by the Shanghai Ranking as one of the most renowned technological universities in Spain. We look forward to gathering in the Mediterranean light of Valencia to share knowledge, foster innovation, and celebrate the countless ways that color matters.
