''Public Data for Public Good"
Conference Focus
Administrative data arising via public service delivery enable new research questions to be addressed for the benefit of citizens and society. Such data are collected by a range of organisations such as government departments, local authorities, education establishments, social housing provision, and health & social care providers for the purposes of registration, transaction and record keeping.
The datasets represent a rich resource of individual-level records that can be used to answer important questions about issues that impact on people’s lives, their health and wellbeing, as well as societal issues and resourcing for public services. They are particularly powerful when they can be brought together and linked at the individual level.
With the advances in data reuse, there has never been a better time to focus on expanding opportunities for administrative data! The aim of the 4th International Conference on Administrative Data Research (ADR19) is to bring together a wide range of parties interested in the advancing research using administrative data for public benefit.
The main theme of the conference is: public data for public good. Being able to achieve the potential benefits depends on work across a range of domains and areas of expertise. In recognition of this, the conference topics feeding concurrent session include completed research and the enabling activities without which research could not take place.
Submission invitation
We warmly invite abstract submissions for presentation in the following formats:
-
Oral Presentations will be presented in concurrent sessions. Each oral presentation will be given 15 minutes to present, and 5 minutes for Q&A, for a total of 20 minutes. Please avoid death by PowerPoint (!) and use no more than 15 slides.
-
Rapid Fire papers will be presented during dedicated rapid fire concurrent sessions. Each presenter will have 4 minutes to give their presentation, using a maximum of 1 slide, followed by a Q&A with the audience. Presenters are encouraged to present their findings in an innovative and/or entertaining way. Use your imagination!
-
Posters will be on display for an assigned presentation day.
The presentation schedule and poster viewing times and schedule for the posters will be publicised after the call for abstracts is completed and presentations are selected. Further instructions will also be provided to guide presenters.
You will have the option to identify your preferred presentation format(s) for which you would like your abstract considered. Where multiple presentation formats are selected, oral presentations will be given first priority, followed by rapid fire presentations and finally posters. All abstracts will be reviewed by an International Scientific Committee (ISC) and successful submissions will be grouped into sub-themes taking into account author preference.
