“eHealth” is defined by the European Commission as “The interaction between patients and health- service providers, institution-to-institution transmission of data, or peer-to peer communication between patients and/or health professionals. Examples include health information networks, electronic health records, telemedicine services, wearable and portable systems which communicate, health portals, and many other ICT based tools assisting disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, health monitoring and lifestyle management.”
Conference Theme
The 12th European Conference of ACENDIO will explore worldwide eHealth innovations in nursing, describe best practice and look for evidence of how these innovations address: ethics and eHealth; adherence on health technology-enabled interventions; big nursing data research, semantic heterogeneity of data elements and data warehousing; decision support systems for nurses and inter- professional teams; safety and quality of care through assistive devices; education in information technologies; virtual learning; state of the art research on electronic health records (EHR) and eHealth models; usability and effectiveness of IT support to enhance health care.

Impact of and evidence for these technologies in relation to: ethics and eHealth; patient adherence and empowering; examples of big nursing data research evaluating nursing diagnoses, effectiveness of interventions and patient outcomes; research on interoperability and usability of data; examples of meaningful decision support for practice; enhancing care quality and patient safety by assistive devices; educational models and evaluations; results and effectiveness of usable EHRs and models; effectiveness and efficiency of IT devices to support the health care team.

Regular ACENDIO themes such as: documenting nursing care; use of nursing diagnoses, interventions and outcomes; nursing terminologies and languages; nursing classifications and minimum data sets (NMDS) within e-Health.
The official language of the conference is English. Abstracts must be submitted in English.
Submission of abstracts
We invite you to submit abstracts for the conference according the following guidelines:

Abstracts must be submitted electronically by 12.00 CET on June 30, 2018 via the ACENDIO abstracts link (https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=acendio2019).

Abstracts must be submitted in English and the following formatting guidelines must be adhered to:

Font: Arial, Times New Roman or equivalent, size 12 point with single line spacing;
-
Title of presentation in should be typed in CAPITAL LETTERS;
-
The preferred form of presentation must be indicated, for example, oral presentation,
poster presentation, workshop or workshop;
-
The name(s) of author(s), preceded by initials, to be types below title of presentation.
Professional titles, degrees, etc. should not be included;
-
The name of the main presenter should be underlined;
-
Private postal address, e-mail address, and phone/fax number of main presenter to be
included;
-
The name of the presenter(s)’ institution, postal address, e-mail address, and phone/fax
number to be included, where the main presenter is employed (only one contact address).

The content of the submission should include:
-
A summary and keywords of the abstract content in English (not more than 50 words);
-
The abstract, which should not exceed 500 words.

The specific object of study or project should be stated, including research questions,
methods, results and conclusions. Tables, diagrams and footnotes should be avoided if
possible.

Submissions may report original research, project development/evaluation, practice
applications or position papers, but should always relate to the conference theme/
subtheme; and must be named accordingly.

All submissions will be acknowledged upon receipt.

The scientific committee will consider all abstracts and recommend those for acceptance either as oral/poster presentation, or workshop to the board of ACENDIO. Authors will be notified by email, on or before September 1, 2018 of the outcome of their submission. Authors, whose abstracts have been selected for presentation, will also be notified of the time, date, method and allocation of presentation. Submission of an abstract implies registration for the conference, and acceptance of the final decision regarding method and allocation of presentation by the board of ACENDIO. No further correspondence will be entered into in this regard. Successful authors are required to register before September 30, 2018 at the full registration early bird fee.
