Building Information Modelling (BIM), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), Robotics and Construction Tech have created a paradigm shift in the design, engineering, construction and operation of the built environment. In addition, the richness and availability of data create the perfect conditions to enhance performance, sustainability and efficiency. Digitalising the built environment enables, among others, improving (design) decision-making and building performance; analysis of urban dynamics; prediction of energy use; fault detection and diagnosis in system operation; building energy management; holistic building design; linking and exploring datasets, additive manufacturing, etc.
Ultimately, all these efforts serve the same purposes - decarbonising, improving performance, indoor environmental quality, occupant comfort and well-being, safety, cost-efficiency, and productivity.
The 4TU/14UAS knowledge institutes come together and invite you to join the 2nd Research Day on Digitalisation of the Built Environment (2nd 4TU/14UAS DBE) that highlights state-of-the-art research and implementation results related to the broader area of digitalisation of the built environment.
