The primary objective of the International Association of Physical Education and Sport Universities is developing cooperation between universities educating sport coaches and PE teachers within the domain of the teaching process, research and supporting competitive athletes and coaches. XXI International Congress "Olympic Sport in Modern Society" enables exchange of research and teaching experiences and good practices in elite and recreational sport between academic and sport staff across the globe.
Submission Guidelines
All papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference. The following paper categories are welcome:
- Oral Presentation
- All oral presentations will be programmed with like papers according to conference sub-theme. Each presenter will be provided with a 12-minute presentation time slot in either a 90 minute or 75 minute session.
- An abstract of 300 words must include title, author(s) and affiliation(s). Authors should indicate a conference sub-theme which the presenter(s) feels most closely represents the topic covered and key words to allow the committee to group papers together.
- Abstracts should address:
- Introduction to the topic or context and/or mapping of the literature
- Aims of the project or research questions and/or focus of enquiry
- Research methods and/or analytical and/or theoretical frame
- Research findings and/or contribution to the field
- Relevance / alignment to conference theme(s)
- Presenters are strongly encouraged to have a written paper of 4000-6000 words for distribution at the paper presentation.
- Poster
- An abstract of 300 words must include title, author(s) and affiliation(s). Poster presenters should indicate a conference theme which the presenter(s) feels most closely represents the topic covered in the poster and key words to allow the committee to group posters together.
- Abstracts should address:
- Introduction to the topic or context and/or mapping of the literature
- Aims of the project or research questions and/or focus of enquiry
- Research methods and/or analytical and/or theoretical frame
- Research findings and/or contribution to the field
- Relevance / alignment to conference theme(s)
- All posters shall be put up in the morning before the Poster Presentation Session on the programme. Poster presenters must be in during the time allocated to Poster Presentations. Poster presentations will not be organized simultaneously with other activities.
- All posters will be evaluated in a best poster competition. Prizes will be awarded for the best posters in an open category
- Poster size should be A0 (height: 120 cm, width 90 cm) and must be presented in the portrait/vertical position.
- Symposia / Panel Presentation
- The Symposia/Panel Presentations are either a 90 minute or 75 minute session with 4 or 3 papers respectively being presented.
- The symposium/panel organiser must arrange prior acceptance of all parties. Symposium/panel proposals are encouraged to nominate a discussant and must nominate a chairperson. The title of the symposium or panel, plus the name(s) and affiliation(s) of all participants in the session, including the chair and discussant, and an overview of 300 words (max) should be submitted together with the abstracts of 300 words (max) including title, authors and their affiliations of all papers to be included in the session.
- Abstracts should address:
- Introduction to the topic or context and/or mapping of the literature
- Aims of the project or research questions and/or focus of enquiry
- Research methods and/or analytical and/or theoretical frame
- Research findings and/or contribution to the field
- Relevance / alignment to conference theme(s)
- The symposium must be linked to a sub-theme of the conference, which the symposium/panel organiser, in collaboration with the other presenters, feels most closely, represents the topic covered in the symposium or panel.
- Presenters of each paper are strongly encouraged to have a written paper of 4000-6000 words for distribution at the symposium or panel presentation.
- Workshop
- Workshops are 90 minutes in duration and provide delegates with an opportunity to experience interactive engagement with a topic, e.g., research methodology, physical activity demonstration.
- An abstract of 300 words should be submitted, which must include title, author(s) and affiliation(s), aims of the workshop and brief description of planned activities.
- Author Guidelines
- Researchers are encouraged to work collaboratively across disciplines, phase of career and institutions when proposing panels and symposia.
- All abstracts submitted must indicate the conference sub-theme and key words that most closely relate to the topic of their paper, symposium or poster on the title page.
- All abstracts will be reviewed.
- The person who submits the proposal (i.e. usually the symposium organiser or lead author of individual papers) is responsible for communicating with all other participants about the decisions of the reviewers, dates and times of the presentation and so forth.
Presenters must be registered for the conference by June 30, 2017 the latests or the paper will be removed from the programme.
All accepted abstracts will be available as an electronic book of abstracts on the conference web site
