ABSTRACT DUE: October 2nd, 2020
The GCIC is looking for all area Honors College students to submit an abstract of their project for this year’s Fall Honors Conference. We are looking for students to present current, past, or future research interests, conclusions, and findings. The final conference presentation need not be finished and can be a short academic paper, a PPT, or poster presentation. Other formats may be considered upon request. Any academic subject of interest will be considered. Traditional academic breakdowns should be noted as key words and include, but are not limited to:
-
Liberal Arts & Humanities (Music, History, Philosophy, English/Literature, Classics, Languages, International Studies, etc.)
-
Social & Behavioral Sciences (Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, Government, Political Science, Economics, etc.)
-
Math & Physical Sciences (Mathematics, Biology, Geology, Physics, Chemistry, Astronomy, etc.)
All submissions must have your Director, or equivalent, approval prior to submission. The conference this year will be held virtually. Details to be announced. Presenters should make sure that they have stable and reliable internet access, a microphone, and a webcam. Presenters should be prepared for a questions and answer session at the end of their presentations. A presentation session will be no longer than twenty total minutes with the presentation taking no more than 10 to 12 minutes and the Q&A taking the remainder.
Who Can Submit?
We invite any student in good academic standing who is associated with an honors college at a community/two-Year college located in the greater Houston area to submit proposals for presentation. All submitters will have to register (free) a user account with Easy Chair via the link that follows.
DUE DATE: October 2nd, 2020. All submissions must be in .pdf format and final presentations should be presentable in 10-12 minutes.
Please submit abstracts to: https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=2020gcichc
