Abstract:
We report on a systematic investigation of the transport properties of laboratory rock samples using pulse-tracer tests in both sandstone and carbonates. One-dimensional formulations of the Advection Dispersion Equation, the Multi-Rate Mass Transfer model, and the Continuous Time Random Walk model were evaluated against the measured effluent profiles. Care was taken to identify those parameters that are solely rock dependent to reduce the complexity of the fitting exercise, while providing for a more robust interpretation and comparison of the model results.
