The idea for the talk came from an internal FAQ that I wrote about what ”connectivity” means in practice for these systems, with the main concerns being security and data quality.

Around the same time I attended a seminar about practical AI cases in industry, and noticed that most success stories are based on events or data from other IT systems, not real-world data.

This talk is based on personal experiences with the topic. I will also present suggestions on how to make things better from engineering and data science points of view.
