Abstract:
Due to the pandemic caused by SARS-CoV-2, schools had to change their modalities from classroom to virtual. Few studies have been carried out on the satisfaction that this change in methodology has caused in educational institutions and its effects on the academic performance of students. For this reason, we studied the satisfaction in both students and teachers and its impact on academic performance, focusing on the three highest levels of secondary education in a school in the city of Guayaquil. Thus, of four variables proposed for each of the actors, it was statistically determined that two (Perception of teacher performance and Degree of interaction with peers) affect student satisfaction and one (Perception of the use of web tools) affects teacher satisfaction. Likewise, both the satisfaction of the student and the satisfaction of the teacher affect the academic performance of the students but in a different sense, being the satisfaction of the student a direct relation, while the satisfaction of the teacher shows an inverse relation. From this study, opportunities for improvement are presented, for the school under study based on the findings found for its particular case, and for future similar studies with greater scope
