Abstract:
The research aims to estimate the carbon footprint of inbound tourism in Greece and identify the economic activity sectors that generate the most carbon dioxide air pollutants due to tourism demand. The carbon footprint calculation is carried out using an environmentally extended input-output model, which allows the identification of direct and indirect emissions due to domestic production and to the country’s integration into global value chains.
