Abstract:
Microgrids are typically comprised of distributed renewable sources, fossil fuel-powered generators, and energy storage systems. There are several topologies aimed at military, university, business and residential applications. Regardless of the topology, microgrids must have permanent management and operation capacity, as well as transition from on-grid to off-grid and vice versa in programmed and non-programmed situations. This work presents a record of the operation of critical loads in residential microgrids, as well as functions and actions that must be implemented via EMS.
