Abstract:
Recently, with the objective of improving the evaluation and diagnosis system of swallowing disorders, Deglutisom appears as a support in the speech therapy clinic. This software considers an efficiency of 90% of the results in relation to imaging exams. In addition, it eliminates clinical diagnostic errors caused by lack of experience in the use of cervical auscultation. Swallowing operates based on the processing of the acoustic signals of swallowing and their organization in a spectrogram, which defines the quality of swallowing, taking into account the permanent noise of the larynx before and after food is offered. This system works from a 3 MHz Fetal Doppler Sonar coupled to a Swallowing Acoustic Analysis Software. However, due to the limitations of the equipment regarding the production of functional images of the swallowing process, this work seeks to analyze the acoustic signals produced by the swallowing process recorded in the Deglutisom software and processed in MATLAB, in order to verify the effectiveness of this resource. in the production of new methods for evaluating swallowing sounds. For this, an exploratory study was used, with the functional assessment of swallowing. The analysis of the results consisted in the organization of the signals extracted in MATLAB in oscillogram format, signal spectrogram, frequency spectrogram and respective spectral analysis through the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT).
