Abstract:
Markets are constantly growing, customers have been evolving in their purchases, they are no longer looking only for brands, but also for speed, quality, and comfort. It is vital to have a strategy and logistics system, since otherwise high costs are incurred to cover the demand, up to 30% of the sales volume of a company. The company under study supplies water treatment equipment to its customers, but inefficiently. For this reason, the present study aimed to provide improvements in the logistics system of a trading company by making use of tools such as the decision matrix to objectively corroborate the importance of the macro-process to be analyzed. Subsequently, information was collected through the collaboration and brainstorming of expert personnel in the company under study to process it, develop the Vester matrix and problem tree. Based on each of the root causes diagnosed in the problem tree, the problems were analyzed in greater detail. The main findings of the analysis made it possible to identify opportunities for improvement in communication and staff training, and policies in inventories, the preparation of demand forecasts. Finally, the study presents positive returns in the implementation of the improvements (NPV> 0). Likewise, the importance of training and promotion of communication on the generation of value for the company under study is valued.
