Abstract:
: Efficient monitoring of renewable energy stations is critical to ensuring safe, reliable, clean, and sustainable energy production. It is necessary to have an infrastructure of sensors and actuators to measure and control energy production and a communication structure to connect the generation plant to the associated substation. In this sense, the motivation to colaborate to a efficient suppervisory arises for implementing an intelligent and interoperable control center based on data modeling and communication protocols of the IEC 61850 standard. This paper proposes a new control and monitoring center based on the IEC 61850 standard for photovoltaic plants, aiming to ensure efficiency and security in the energy supply and offer fault diagnosis to speed up preventive and corrective maintenance. We validate the proposed system in a case study of generation data injection and the actuation of an overcurrent protection. For this purpose, the assembled test environment in the laboratory simulates a photovoltaic plant using an Omicron CMC 356 test case and an SEL-421 IED. We designed the SCADA system at the Elipse E3 software, where we developed application screens for remote measurement data acquisition and circuit breaker monitoring.
