Abstract:
The summary of a review given on a level of credibility of neurofeedback effects in depression, based on AAPB and ISNR criteria. It has been shown that key EEG and fMRI protocols suit level 2/5 "Possibly efficacious". According to these results, we are unaware of actual specificity and effectiveness levels of neurofeedback protocols for depression treatment. The most importaint role in promoting our understanding of the problem may be played by potential independent replication studies of key protocols, including frontal alpha asymmetry and amygdala upregulation.
