Abstract:
A frequently asked question to experts is whether a suspicion can be proven, and in many cases a specific period of time to be investigated is given. In other cases this period is not specified in more detail, but implicitly assumed. In any case, a more detailed determination of the period is necessary, as the main forensic questions, such as the crime itself (what happened), the scene of the crime (where it happened), the course of events (how it was dealt with), the traces (what was worked with) and finally the time of the crime (when did it happen). However, the question of time does not only arise in criminal law but above all in an even more granular manner in civil law, especially when technical “hard-core” issues have to be assessed.
