The aim of this study is introduced a clustering method for ipsative variables. The proposed method is used to define motivational profiles based on the declared preferences, all the analysis is done using a survey for people belonging to the millennial generation in the city of Guadalajara (Mexico). Two cluster analysis are done, the premier is the proposed method and the second one is PAM method. The results show that the proposed method lead a better segmentation in the sense that identifies two different motivational profiles according to the psychological background, also it is got a more differentiated groups.
