Abstract:
Considerable attention is paid to the higher education quality issues at the present stage. The problem is solved by using different test types that should provide a reliable higher education applicant evaluation. It includes functional procedures that specify the test and test task improvement sequence. It is found that it is better to use specialized computer applications for their implementation, that is why this technology involves the use of the author's program "Statistical analysis of test results" and the statistical package. The author program calculates the indicators – the test task item difficulty and discrimination, the test item difficulty, reliability, and validity – according to empirical education applicant testing data of in the LMS MOODLE. The indicators help identify unsatisfactory quality test tasks and to improve the education applicant evaluation means, as the program derives the recommendations. The program also involves the determination of the optimal time for carrying out control procedures using the appropriate test. The screen copies show the author program use results. The steps set out by technology to process testing results with the help of a statistical package increase the improvement process efficiency. The correlation and factor analyses help identify the tasks that put the highest load into the test score. These procedures influence the making of a decision on the test task review need. The technology involves repeated checking procedures based on empirical testing data. The presented technology has been tested at Zaporizhzhya National University and Zaporizhzhya Regional Institute of Postgraduate Teacher Education. A variance analysis has proved its effectiveness.
