Abstract:
Decision support methods for location are motivated by the presence of various attributes and alternatives. In this sense, this study identified potential neighborhoods in a Brazilian municipality to rent real estate. The model came about through the need of students who need to identify the most appropriate place to rent a residence, since the city has a university. Therefore, 13 alternatives were identified, divided by social and economic characteristics, and 4 criteria were selected (location to universities, cost, security and nearby facilities). The model considered verbal evaluations with the presence of a decision maker to generate the intra-criterion and inter-criterion performances. A non-compensatory approach (ELECTRE I) was used. The results indicated alternatives that are closer to the center of the city, and have the highest number of overlaps in the peer-to-peer comparison. The model can be used in urban planning public policies.
