Abstract:
The production of green hydrogen is being considered as an energy solution by various countries around the world. Governments are setting targets and allocating resources to promote this type of fuel. Although Brazil is in the early stages of infrastructure and public policies related to hydrogen, it has the potential to become a leader in this production sector. However, it must overcome some challenges such as the initial implementation cost, advancements in technology efficiency, and availability of raw materials. Therefore, the article aims to address the main topics of using green hydrogen as an electricity vector. To achieve this goal, a literature review is conducted on the main themes related to obtaining, storing, technologies, and challenges encountered in Brazil regarding the implementation of hydrogen. Literature analysis suggests that using renewable sources for fuel production is still a costly process, leading most countries to produce hydrogen from fossil fuels, releasing carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.
