Abstract:
This paper presents a brief introduction to the use of tropical algebra in the modeling of discrete event systems (DESs), highlighting how this mathematical structure has allowed a paradigm shift regarding the modeling and control of such systems. Additionally, it discusses important aspects of controller design applied to DESs and presents a robustness analysis based on simulations of a controlled system.
