Abstract:
In this work, the application of the 120° Discontinuous Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) technique in a Nine-Switch Inverter (NSI) is presented. The system adopted to analyze the effectiveness of the modulation scheme has two functions, which are power insertion into the grid and voltage compensation in the load. To evaluate the performance of the modulation strategy, all signals relevant to its operation were monitored during two different system operating scenarios. The results were obtained through real-time simulations, from which it is concluded that the analyzed PWM is robust enough to adequately control the NSI in different scenarios.
