Debasmita Chakraborty received the B.Sc degree in Mathematics from Jadavpur University, India, in 2016, and M.Sc in Mathematics from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur in 2018. She is currently a Ph.D student, holding the post of Senior Research Fellow at Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata under the supervision of Prof. Mridul Nandi. Her current research interests include fundamental understanding of cryptanalysis of block ciphers as well as stream ciphers, design and security analysis of symmetric-key modes and primitives, lightweight cryptography etc. She has done some research works on division property based attacks on various block ciphers, cube attacks on stream ciphers, security analysis of  hash functions as well as AEAD modes.
