Alex Zverev, IBM Canada, GBS, Performance & Capacity Architecture and Management. Based in Toronto, Ontario.

Born in Czernowitz, Ukraine. Educated in Moscow, Russia: MSc and PhD at the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI (formerly Moscow Engineering Physics Institute), specialised in Theoretical Nuclear Physics (MSc) and Dynamics of Heterogeneous Media (PhD).

Work experience: Senior researcher at the National Research Centre "Kurchatov Institute" in Moscow, Russia. Worked on aspects of nuclear safety, military applications of physics of shock waves and detonation, monitoring of underground nuclear tests.

Since 1999 got involved with the quality engineering aspects of software production. Worked as a performance analyst, test designer, performance architect, team manager in Healthcare, Telecommunications, Banking and Government IT.

Among current interests: development of practical aspects of performance validation and analysis, modelling and quantitative methods of capacity planning, development of quantitative compliance criteria for non-functional validation of IT solutions in various industries, business flow-based development of non-functional requirements and performance test architectures, migration of performance analysis methodologies into emerging architectures.
