Bio

Giorgio SONNINO is a Senior Scientific Researcher at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB), Department of Theoretical Physics and Mathematics. He is a Professor at the International Centres for Relativistic Astrophysics Network (ICRANet). He is also a Scientific Advisor at the European Union - Directorate General for Education, Youth, Sport, and Culture (ERASMUS+ Directorate) for “Synergy Between Higher Education and Scientific Research. He has co-authored over 110 scientific manuscripts published in international peer-reviewed scientific journals. He is an Editorial Member and Scientific Reviewer of several International peer-reviewed scientific journals. He was awarded several international scientific prizes.

Giorgio SONNINO works in the following scientific fields: Thermodynamics of Irreversible Processes, Complex Systems and Non-Linear Phenomena, Fusion Science, Fluid Mechanics, Information Theory, Classical Cryptography, Dynamics of Populations, Cosmology.

Giorgio SONNINO - CURRICULUM STUDIORUM

- In 2002, Giorgio SONNINO received the H.D.R. Diploma (Thèse d’Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches) at the Institut Non-Linéaire de Nice (INLN), Nice, France, by defending the H.D.R.- Thesis:Thermodynamical Field Theory (TFT).

- In 1992, he received a Ph.D. degree at the ULB – Department of Chimie Physique II (headed by Prof. Ilya Prigogine - Nobel Prize laureate) by defending the dissertation: Self-organization in hydrodynamic systems Role of the hydrodynamic fluctuations”. Final degree: “La plus Grande Distinction” (Summa cum Laude).

- In 1985, he received a Master's in Physics at the Università degli Studi di Genova, Genoa, Italy, by defending the M.S.- Thesis: Relaxation of hydrodynamic systems far from equilibrium towards non-equilibrium steady-states”. Final degree: 110/110 con Lode (Summa cum Laude).
