Bio

Associate Professor Dimitrios Kouis is the Head of the Department of Archival, Library & Information Studies of the University of West Attica. He holds a PhD in Communications, Electronics & Information Systems from the National Technical University of Athens and a degree in Computer Engineering and Informatics from the University of Patras. He was the technical manager of the Hellenic Academic Libraries Association from 2005 to 2016. He has participated in many development and research projects which were funded by European and national programs (FP6, FP7, Horizon2020 and NSRF). He is the director of the Information Management Laboratory of the University of West Attica. His research interests include (a) Library Networks with an emphasis on shared bibliographic data management systems and collaborative systems for managing digital collections; and (b) Digital Content Management with an emphasis on electronic scientific publications, scholarly communication, on the models of access and dissemination of scientific content, on research data as well as on the procedures of measurement and evaluation of research activity. He has published more than 40 articles in journals and conferences as well as 2 books. He is also technical supervisor of the repository services and electronic publications of the University of West Attica as well as of the electronic courses of the Department.
