Bio Denis de Castro Halis is a Brazilian scholar who worked in China from 2005 to 2019. He was a full-time scholar at the Law Faculty of the University of Macau for 12 years. He is currently working for UNESA, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and cooperating with the Centre for European and Comparative Legal Studies (CECS) of the Faculty of Law of the University of Copenhagen, Denmark. His investigations range from Legal and Social Theories to Business and Company Law. He is a member of the Brazilian Bar, a trustee of the Asian Law and Society Association (ALSA), a coordinator of research networks under the Law and Society Association (LSA) and, in 2020, has co-founded the Observatory of Political Rights and Citizenship (OPRAC). His latest paper is “Digitalization and Dissent in Legal Cultures. Chinese and Other Perspectives” (NNJLSR - 9, 2020/19). He also co-edited “The BRICS-Lawyers’ Guide to Global Cooperation” (CUP, 2017). |
