HPC in Bioinformatics: Advanced Bioinformatics Techniques for Genomics and Molecular Data Analysis

ABSTRACT. There have been an increasing number of applications to solve complex real-world problems using HPC systems. Solving such complex problems has many alternatives to choose from application programs, algorithms & underlying HPC technologies. The role of high-performance computing (HPC) in bioinformatics is to enable the analysis and processing of large amounts of biological data, such as DNA sequences, protein structures, and gene expression levels. Bioinformatics involves the use of computational algorithms and tools to analyze and interpret biological data, and HPC techniques, such as parallel computing or distributed computing, are often used to speed up these processes.

The Bioinformatics Resources & Applications Facility (BRAF) at C-DAC, provides high-end supercomputing facilities to the researchers working in the areas of Bioinformatics. The facility gives access to HPC resources, such as computing time and data storage, to researchers and scientists. The Bioinformatics Group at C-DAC is poised to serve as a provider to the computing applications and infrastructure on demand to the Bioinformatics community. The tutorial gives a decisive edge to the students, scientific users and researchers to choose the HPC technology for bioinformatics related codes.

Translating Quantum Research into Technologies

ABSTRACT. "Translating Quantum Research into Technologies: The second quantum revolution is all about how to utilize the potential of quantum physics – building quantum technologies and products that are of societal use. Several governments are investing humongous amounts of funds in national projects in quantum technologies and product development. India is taking baby steps in exploring its quantum technologies development capabilities. Be it Quantum Computing, Quantum Sensing, Quantum Communication or Materials for Quantum Technologies – which is going to lead the future ? and can Quantum Computers really replace the current computers ? Presenting I-HUB Quantum Technology Foundation, a Technology Innovation Hub and a Section 8 not-for-profit company, promoted by IISER-Pune dedicated to development of Quantum Technologies for our nation ! "

Knime Analytics Platform for Data Scientists

ABSTRACT. The Knime Analytics Platform is an open source easy to program data analytics platform with support for Machine Learning. The powerful GUI of Knime provides the data scientists an innovative approach to analyse the data and derive insights. The tutorial will introduce the participants to Knime platform and take them through some of the applications. The real life data sets are utilized to illustrate the powerful features and functionalities of Knime. The tutorial will provide an hands on opportunity to learn Knime for Data Cleaning, Data Visualization and Machine Learning.
