Bio Dr. Kareem M. Tonbol is a Professor of Physical Oceanography and Climatology and Dean of Scientific Research for Maritime Affairs at AASTMT, Egypt. With a Ph.D. in Physical Oceanography from Alexandria University, he specializes in climate change, sea-level rise, marine renewable energy, and sustainable maritime development. He has led major international projects under Erasmus+, Horizon Europe, PRIMA, and ENI CBC MED, focusing on climate resilience and the blue economy. A prolific researcher, he has authored numerous high-impact publications and serves as Editor-in-Chief of the Multidisciplinary Adaptive Climate Insights Journal. Dr. Tonbol has played a key role in AASTMT’s global rankings, supervised multiple Ph.D. and M.Sc. students, and contributed to climate policy and maritime education reforms. His work bridges scientific research, sustainability, and strategic leadership, making him a recognized expert in ocean and climate science. |
