Bio M. SABARIMALAI MANIKANDAN (Senior Member, IEEE) received the B.E. degree inElectronic and Communication Engineering, the M.E. degree in Microwave and OpticalEngineering, and the Ph.D. degree in Cardiovascular Signal Processing from Indian Institute ofTechnology Guwahati. He is currently an Associate Professor at Electrical Engineering, IITPalakkad. He was an Assistant Professor at Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar andAmrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham University, India. He was a Chief Engineer with the AdvancedTechnology Group, Samsung India Electronic Pvt., Ltd., Noida, India. He has published more than70 research articles in reputed journals and conference proceedings. His area of interests includesignal and image processing, adaptive machine learning, the Internet of Things, VLSI signalprocessing, machine learning architectures with application system development: health (human,machine, structural) monitoring systems, audio and speech processing systems for human–machineinteractions, biometric and data security for authentication and authorization, environmental monitoring systems for ambientassisted living, UAV-assisted IoT for smart surveillance systems, and context and quality aware pattern learning networks forevent recognition. Dr. M. S. Manikandan was a recipient of the 2012 Outstanding Performance Award and also Employee of theMonth during his tenure at Samsung India Electronic Pvt., Ltd. and received 2019 CVET Most Cited Article Award at theBiomedical Engineering Society (BME) conference, Philadelphia, USA and 2019 IET Healthcare Technology Letters PremiumAward. He serves as Associate Editor of IEEE Access, Healthcare Technology Letters, IET Generation, Transmission &Distribution, PLOS Digital Health and Frontiers in Signal Processing (Biomedical Signal Processing) and Academic Editor andGuest Editor of Journal of Healthcare Engineering. He serves as the reviewer for reputed journals including the IEEE, ACM,IET, Springer, Elsevier, PLOS ONE, and Taylor and Francis. |
