Bio I am a fourth-year joint doctoral student at San Diego State University and the University of California, San Diego and I am also the Lab Manager of the Language and Neuroscience Group (LaNG). I received my Master’s degree in 2018 from the University of California, Davis in psycho/neurolinguistics and from that experience became interested in studying impaired speech processing. The aim of my research is to examine the neurological underpinnings of language processing by investigating how alterations in brain structure or function affect language behavior. Specifically, I am interested in exploring how similar neurophysiological factors can contribute to language comprehension impairments across different language-impaired populations. The long-term goal of this research is to identify biomarkers of language impairment that could potentially aid in the identification and treatment of language disorders. I plan to achieve these goals as a faculty member at a research-intensive university in either communication disorders or a related department. |
