Dr. Erica Middleton is an Institute Scientist at Moss Rehabilitation Research Institute and directs the Language and Learning Laboratory. Dr. Middleton holds a PhD in cognitive psychology with a specialization in psycholinguistics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Her research is dedicated to characterizing the representation of lexical knowledge and how learning through language use affects changes in lexical processing. Dr. Middleton’s work is also dedicated to the development of efficacious treatments of naming impairments in acquired aphasia that draw on best practices provided by basic research on learning and memory.
