Muhammad Furqan is a PhD candidate in Computer Science at the Queensland University of Technology,specialising in multi-orbit satellite networks, 5G/6G non-terrestrial connectivity, and AI-enabled spacesystems. His research focuses on the integration of GEO–LEO satellite architectures with advancednetworking, quantum communications, and sovereign capabilities to support both civil and defenceapplications.He is also the co-founder of Datellite Pty Ltd, an Australian space technology venture dedicated todeveloping sovereign satellite gateways, Ka-band VSAT systems, and hybrid multi-orbit solutions. Furqanhas contributed to multiple international research collaborations and consulting projects, spanning satellitecommunications, defence market analysis, and technical due diligence for multi-orbit infrastructures. With more than a decade of experience bridging academia, industry, and government stakeholders, he hasauthored and co-authored several papers on 6G NTN feasibility, inter-satellite link modelling, and sovereignsatellite architectures. His work reflects a passion for future-proof, resilient, and locally driven spacesolutions that strengthen national capability while advancing global satellite innovation.
