Bio Sonia Kahmei is a PhD scholar in Economics at the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, India, whose work focuses on household energy access, energy consumption patterns, and energy transition. Her research examines the adoption of clean cooking energy in Manipur, India, with particular emphasis on the socio-economic and regional determinants of household energy choices across the hill and valley regions. Using empirical methods, including econometric modeling and impact evaluation techniques, her work contributes to a deeper understanding of energy access, energy poverty, and the effectiveness of public policy interventions in promoting clean energy transitions. Her broader research interests include Development Economics, Energy Economics, and energy policy. |
