Bio Sonia Kahmei is a research scholar in economics with research interests in household energy access, energy transition, and development policy. Her research focuses on the adoption of clean cooking energy in Manipur, India, examining the socio-economic and regional determinants of household energy choices, with particular emphasis on disparities between the hill and valley regions. Using empirical methods, including econometric modeling and impact evaluation techniques, her work contributes to understanding issues of energy access and energy poverty, as well as the effectiveness of public policy interventions in promoting clean energy transitions. Her broader research interests include sustainable development, energy economics, and energy policy. |
