Reynolds function transition in a flowing fluid in a square cavity with entrained walls

EasyChair Preprint no. 2391

5 pagesDate: January 15, 2020

Abstract

In this work, we are interested in the numerical study of the Reynolds number transition in a viscous incompressible fluid flowing in a two-dimensional square cavity whose vertical and lower walls are stationary, and the upper one is mobile with a constant horizontal velocity. The numerical calculations have been performed for a wide Reynolds range between 100 and 2000, and the equations governing the flow are solved numerically using a regular- and high-order-accuracy difference-mesh approach. The analysis will focus on the vertical and horizontal velocity profile on the midline of the cavity.
