(Wednesday 14th to Friday 16th November 2018)
VUU invites you to submit a research paper to the 1st annual international e-conference. This year’s theme is Digital Transformation: Tapping the opportunities for higher learning institutions.
VUU attracts speakers and delegates from researchers, graduate students, innovators, and policy makers. The conference offers a wide appeal:

-
to Graduate Students who would like to present their ongoing master’s and PhD study results;
-
to innovators who would like to present innovative e- ideas for education;
-
to policy-makers who would share policy issues on digital transformation and education;
We invite submissions in all areas of research, learning, teaching, business and innovation, and policy, with special emphasis on digital transformation. The areas of enquiry can be, but not limited to: education research; teaching methodologies; learning methodologies; quality of education; regulation of education; education technologies; etc.
Submitted papers should make a significant contribution to theory, knowledge, and practice in the areas of teaching, learning, research and dissemination in higher learning institutions. Papers can be based on both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies. The papers will be published as proceedings of the conference; for high quality papers, they will be peer reviewed for publication in a special issue.
Human beings have always socialized their siblings for purposes of tackling challenges in order to make sure that a good life is secured. It is for this reason that education systems and technologies, in their different forms, were invented, and over time, these systems have had diverse and evolutionary methodologies for their delivery.
Now than ever, if there is anything that is transforming our ways of thinking and doing is the digital transformation: information spreads very fast, reaches a very wide spectrum of people, and the content is so conveniently packaged that it easily impacts on people’s lives. As a result, the traditional centers of education, such as families and formalized educational institutions, are giving way to the actors that are able to make use of the digital transformation, such as the media and Internet. The younger generations feel more protagonists of their lives, as access to knowledge, which is power, is less and less sanctionable. However, not everybody sees the digital revolution as a blessing; some see it as a curse.
Higher learning institutions, as old formalized education providers, are not free from the impact of the digital transformation; it is for this reason that they need to properly reposition themselves in the transformation. Surely, these institutions have been players in triggering the digital transformation, directly or indirectly, through researches or sometimes neglect of it.
