Agricultural Engineering deals with production and processing of agriculture methods using engineering technologies. It covers various engineering disciplines such as Chemical, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Computer science, Food technology, Bio technology, etc. There are many branches in agricultural engineering such as Crop production technology, Irrigation and Drainage Engineering, farm machinery management, integrated farming, Livestock management, Land Geographical Information System, etc. Agriculture is a big potential market for new technological products. The source of livelihood for most of the population is agriculture. The efficacy and sustainability of agricultural practices can be greatly improved by applying modern engineering techniques. Internet of Things (IoT) plays major role in managing and controlling the farming equipments and sensing the various parameters in the agriculture. It is estimated that about more than 780 Million farms will be connected to IoT from 2035 to 2050. Cloud IoT systems bring agricultural revolution by reducing the efforts, time and cost for the farmer. Several cloud IoT based applications are now designed and implemented for the precision agriculture to effectively and accurately manage the seeding, tillage, harvesting, and processing of crops.
The purpose of this edited book is to present the detailed exploration of adaption and implementation of Cloud IoT systems in the agricultural field. Agro IoT bridges the gap between the conventional agricultural methods and modern technologies. Recently, Cloud computing, IoT, Big data, Machine learning & Deep learning technologies are initiated to adopt in the smart agricultural engineering. This edited book covers all the aspects of the smart agriculture with state-of-the-art Cloud IoT systems in the complete 36o degree view spectrum. It can be used at the Basic and Intermediary Level for Agriculture science & engineering graduate Students, Researchers and Practitioners. It presents the rapid advancement of the technologies in the existing Agri model by applying the IoT techniques. Novel architectural solutions in the smart agricultural engineering are the core aspects of this book. Several use cases with IoT and smart agriculture will also be incorporated. The wide variety of topics it presents would offer the readers multiple perspectives on a variety of disciplines included as number of chapters in the edited book.
The primary audience for the book incorporates researchers, graduate understudies, practitioners who are engaged in agriculture engineering related technologies. Academicians, Agriculture Universities and High school.
The book will be published by International publisher CRC Press (Taylor & Francis Group) under the book series titled Green Engineering and Technology: Concepts and Applications.
