ABOUT PECERA

Objectives of PECERA
The primary objectives for which the Association was established are:

• To provide an academic forum in the Pacific region for the development and dissemination of high-quality research in early childhood education.
• To facilitate cooperation and collaboration among researchers in the Pacific area working in the field of early childhood education.
• To promote links between research and practice in the field of early childhood education.
• To raise the visibility and status of research in early childhood education in the Pacific region.
• To facilitate the exchange of information and views on early childhood education, to collect and disseminate information pertaining to early childhood education and to develop skills and techniques relating to early childhood education.
• To promote research, studies, surveys, investigations, and discussions of any nature for early childhood education, and to encourage and aid in the publication and public dissemination of results of any such research, studies, surveys, investigations or discussions.
• To provide professional development opportunities for students and young scholars, thereby empowering the next generation of early childhood researchers in the Pacific region.

20th PECERA TAIWAN 2019: CHILDHOOD OF TOMORROW

In a changing world, what will childhood and childhood education look like for generations to come? What can we do to help children flourish in an environment of change, a climate that is changing, human relationships that are changing, and social structures that are in constant flux?

Submission Guidelines

All papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference.

How to submit your abstract?

• Log in to  PECERA 2019 submission page provided by EasyChair.
• Click on "New Submission" link on top of the screen.
• Submission form appears, fill in with your abstract and related information.
  - At least one author and three keywords are required.
  -Click on "Submit Paper" button.
• Do not submit the full paper or any other files at this stage
• Submitted abstract can be modified later by logging-in and click on "My submissions". The menu on the right will assist you with submission modification.

  The abstract must be written in English, with a max of 500 words, covering the following areas: 

• The necessity of the study
• Purpose(s) and research question(s) of the study
• A brief description of the method including participants, tool or measure, and data analysis
• Summary of findings or conclusions and implications (For ongoing research studies - expected outcomes and anticipated contribution of the research)

Acknowledgment of Proposal. All submissions will be acknowledged by email from Easychair immediately. If you do not receive the acknowledgment right after your submission, please contact  pecera2019tw@gmail.com for confirmation.

1. Proposal Review.  All submissions will be subject to review.  Submissions are evaluated according to the following criteria:
   1. The originality of the topic: This can be evaluated from the necessity of the study, purpose(s) and research question(s) of the study, and summary of findings (or conclusions) and implication(s)
   2. The significance of the topic: This can be evaluated from the necessity of the study, purpose(s) and research question(s) of the study, and summary of findings (or conclusions) and implication(s)
   3. The rigor of methods: This can be evaluated from the description of the method including participants, tool or measure, and data analysis.
   4. Structure of the proposal: This can be evaluated from the overall structure of the proposal including all of the above-mentioned elements.
   5. Writing: This can be evaluated from the overall writing of the proposal in terms of the grammatical errors in English expression and logical presentation.
2. Notification of Acceptance / Modification. If your proposal is accepted, the corresponding author will receive the confirmation by April 15th, 2019. If your proposal requires modification, the corresponding author will receive comments for improvement.  Submission of revised abstract will be required in 3-7 days for the second review.
3. Registration to the Conference. Following the notification of acceptance, it is recommended that the author(s) register individually for the conference by April 15th, 2019.  Do take note that the early bird registration deadline is April 30th, 2019.
