Submission Guidelines
TYPE AND CONTENT OF ABSTRACT SUBMISSION:
1. Research and non-research abstracts that are relevant to the Conference’s
theme or subthemes may be submitted.
2. Abstracts must stay within the 300-word limit.
3. Research abstracts should contain the following: Specific aims and objectives, Rationale/Background,Methodology (Design, sampling, procedures and data analysis), Results, Discussion and Conclusion, Implications to practice/evidence base of occupational therapy
4. Non-research abstracts should contain the following: Specific aims and objectives, Rationale/Background of the project, Development or Description of program or project, Implications to practice, Results and Summary, Implications to practice/evidence base of occupational therapy.
5. The title of abstract must not be more than 20 words.
6. All abstracts must be written in English
TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
Abstract Submission Terms and Conditions
By submitting an abstract, you agree to the following:
1. Abstracts may be submitted via email (as a Word document) to paotresearch@gmail.com between September 15 and on or before Oct. 20, 2015. This is to provide our volunteer reviewers an ample time to read and review all submissions. No other means of submission may be accepted such as mail, fax or delivered personally at the PAOT office. This is because abstract review is solely being done electronically.
2. Each abstract must be accompanied by a separate author profile form that contains: Complete name, and institution, contact information, email address and preferred mode of presentation (oral or poster presentation).
3. It is understood that submission of an abstract indicates the following:
a. accuracy of content
b. approval of all authors
4. The abstract should be as informative as possible.
5. It is understood that acceptance of an abstract means that the author/s will be responsible for all costs related to conference registration, accommodation, preparation and presentation of the abstract and/or paper.
6. By submitting an abstract/s, you together with any co authors give permission for the abstract to be published in printed materials, website, app and social media formats. Your contact details may also be forwarded to publications interested in your work.
7. If the author(s) have any commercial interests or associations that might pose a conflict of interest regarding this submission, they must be declared. If accepted for presentation, the commercial interest or association must be declared on the title slide or the slide immediately following the title slide.
8. Upon notification of abstract acceptance (by November 10, 2017), the author/s will
inform the Conference organizers (paotresearch@gmail.com) of intent to
attend the conference. Authors of accepted papers must register for the
conference.
9. It is the responsibility of the authors to inform of any changes in presenting
author or if the paper is being withdrawn.
10. At least one author must be available to present the abstract if selected for the programme. The authors will immediately notify the PAOT 52nd 2017 Annual Conference Office if they are unable to present an abstract or if the presenting author is changed.

Subthemes for research:
Makabagong ugnayan: Transformative collaborations
This involves researches or projects with initiatives to collaborate with other occupational therapists, other healthcare professionals, and another discipline, between institutions, between regions, between countries or within certain communities.
Makabagong komunidad: Transformative communities
This involves researchers or projects done within communities. There will be particular attention on work that focuses on groups at risk or disadvantaged. A few examples will be survivors of disasters, wars or conflicts, mentally and intellectually challenged, marginalized and abused.
Makabagong pamamaraan: Transformative strategies
This involves projects or researches that involved new and innovative ways to change occupational therapy education, practice, communities or research. It can also involve a new area or a new methodology.
Makabagong pananaliksik: Transformative researches
This involves projects or researchers that can change the research landscape locally. This could be local data on any area of practice that has a potential to inform, change or strengthen.
