PAEE/ALE’2024, International Conference on Active Learning in Engineering Education, is organized on July 24-26, 2024. This event joins together the International Symposium on Project Approaches in Engineering Education and the Active Learning in Engineering Education Workshop. The theme of this year’s conference is: “Overcoming Uncertainty - Building Bridges Between Society and Learning in the Future”
All papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference. The following paper categories are welcome:
- The official language of the conference and of the papers is English. All submissions are peer-reviewed, and the accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings (indexed in SCOPUS). Submissions will be double reviewed and are single-blind.
- There are four types of submission: abstract only, full paper, workshop/hands-on session and student paper. Authors are required to send an abstract of up to 300 words for all types of submissions. During the submission process authors will choose the submission type. Sending an abstract requires registration in the web submission platform, but does not require registration to the symposium.
- Abstract submission: Regardless of the type of submission, in a first stage, contributors are invited to submit an abstract of 300 words using the web submission platform above. You have to register on the web platform to submit the abstract. Web platform registration is free and does not necessarily require a symposium registration.
- Paper submission: In the case of papers, the full version should have 6 to 8 pages (Microsoft Word file). We suggest that you download and save the required template and copy your own text into it, in order to preserve the adopted styles and other formatting elements. Accepted contributions will be invited to make a presentation at the symposium.
- Workshops/hands-on: Potential contributors are invited to submit a proposal for either a workshop or a hands-on session. You have to register on the web platform (Easy Chair) to submit the workshop/hands-on proposal, choos- ing from the four options that you have there, the “Workshop/hands-on” option. The workshop or hands-on sessions proposals are expected to have three pages maximum.
- Students’ award: PAEE/ALE’2022 particularly welcomes contributions from students (Undergraduate, Master and PhD). The Student Best Paper Award is an opportunity to share with the Engineering Education community all the great projects being currently developed by students. Furthermore, students have a change to share their ideas, to show their work developed at the university, to know other people from all over the world and to learn from each other.
