Second Call for Papers - NCMA 2018
10-th International Workshop on
"Non-Classical Models of Automata and Applications"
(NCMA 2018)
August 21 - 22, 2018, Košice, Slovakia
http://im.saske.sk/ncma2018/
NCMA welcomes research papers that contain original contributions on
classical and non-classical models of automata and applications and
related subjects. Many models of automata and grammar-like structures
are the natural objects of theoretical computer science. They are
studied from different points of view in various areas, both as
theoretical concepts and as formal models for applications. The aim of
the workshops on "Non-Classical Models of Automata and Applications" is
to provide a forum for researchers who work on different aspects of
classical and non-classical models of automata and grammars to exchange
and develop novel ideas.
In order to emphasize the workshop character of NCMA 2018, we also
invite short contributions that report on recent results or ongoing
work in addition to full papers. However, in contrast to the
accepted regular (full) papers that will be published in the OCG
proceedings, the accepted short papers will appear in a separate
technical report.
Topics for NCMA 2018 include:
- formal models inspired by linguistics, bio-computing, text
processing, document engineering, self-assembly, etc.,
- bio-inspired models of automata and generative devices,
- cellular automata,
- forgetting automata and restarting automata,
- automata with additional resources,
- regulated rewriting/automata,
- networks of automata or generative devices,
- models of cooperation and communication,
- quantum automata.
Other related topics, in particular, contributions dealing with
questions on classical automata and generative devices are also
welcome.
The workshop series "Non-Classical Models of Automata and
Applications" started in Wroclaw, Poland, in 2009. Since that the
workshop takes place annually. The proceedings of these workshops
have appeared as volumes in the series books@ocg.at of the Austrian
Computer Society. In addition, special issues of Fundamenta
Informaticae or RAIRO-Theoretical Informatics and Applications were
dedicated to each of them. For NCMA 2018, a special issue of Journal
of Automata, Languages, and Combinatorics is anticipated.

for detailed information). Concerning full papers, proofs omitted
due to space constraints may be put into an appendix that will be
read by the reviewers at their discretion. All full papers will be
reviewed by at least three referees, and simultaneous submissions
to other conferences or workshops with published proceedings are
not allowed. Short papers will be reviewed by at least two PC
members, but simultaneous submissions of extended versions to other
