THEME
The development of different disciplines over time causes these disciplines to intersect, fuse and transform each other. While phenomenology, cognitive science, mechanic, electronic and embedded computing research maintain system quests that are kinetics, reaction and interactive on architecture, the methods of evolutionary calculation that appear in the cross-section of biology and computer science give new perspectives to architecture and urban studies as in other fields. Technological progress in micro/macro/nano scales makes it possible to imagine new situations; such as injection of chemicalized information into the human body as Negroponte indicates. With these isomorphic convergences that gained momentum in the last 25 years, while the singular form of knowledge and the first source of information become insignificant, in which contexts and meanings the information becomes materialized becomes important. So, the search for soils/surfaces/education model between different types of knowledge, overlaps, intersections and projections may become visible is the new field of experimentation and production of the human-architect in the 21st century.
In this context, in order to share the experiences of relevant students, academics and researchers who lead the interdisciplinary studies in the field of digital design, XIII. The Symposium of Digital Design will be hosted by Kocaeli University, Faculty of Architecture and Design on 20-21 May 2019.
Submission Guidelines
All papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference. The following paper categories are welcome:
Extended Abstract Submission
The deadline for submitting extended abstracts is March 4, 2019. You can submit your abstracts via the Easychair system, which you can find at the link to the application. You can use the document on the symposium web page for the example abstract format. Extended abstract text should be in the range of 1000-1500 words.
Full Paper Submission
The full text submission for the accepted for the abstracts that are accepted should be made by May 4, 2019 at 09:00. You can use the document on the symposium web page for the sample full-text paper form. The text of the paper should be in the range of 2500-3000 words and should not exceed a total of 10 pages including pictures, tables and bibliography. The abstract should be in Turkish and English, not exceeding 300-400 words.
The images used in the papers must also be sent at a resolution of 7.5cm or 15cm at a resolution of at least 300DPI. Text and image files must be uploaded until May 4, 2019 at 09:00.
