Call for Abstracts, Posters, and Demos
The MERIT Community Event is an opportunity for researchers, technical experts, and educators to share experiences and advance the state of the art in experimental research and pedagogy using publicly available midscale infrastructure projects such as GENI, the Chameleon and CloudLab cloud testbeds, EdgeNet, the COSMOS and POWDER/RENEW Platforms for Advanced Wireless Research (PAWR).
We solicit two-page abstracts, with demo and/or poster proposals, describing experimental research and/or pedagogy from areas including, but not limited to:
• Wireless network experimentation (including low-power wireless, Internet-of-Things and sensor networks, LTE communications and services, 5G, mmWave)
• Wired network experimentation (including optical networks)
• Distributed systems
• Cloud computing and big data
• Computer and network security
• Softwarization and virtualization of radios and networks
• Software-defined networking (SDN)
• Future internet architectures
• Instrumentation and measurement
• Large-scale experiments
• Evaluation and analysis of experiment data
• Creation and sharing of datasets of broad interest to the community
• Experiment design and deployment
• Designs for repeatability and reproducibility
• Tools and services for testbed users, operators, and instructors
• Experiments on federated testbeds
• Testbed implementation and deployment
Submission Instructions
All abstracts submitted must be in two-column, 10pt, IEEE conference format. Abstracts must include the authors’ names and affiliations for single-blind peer reviewing by the PC. Please submit your abstract via https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=merit2019 All accepted abstracts will be published in IEEE Xplore. All abstracts are encouraged to participate in the poster and demo session. One additional page is permitted in the initial submission to provide a poster or demo proposal associated with the abstract (detailed below).
Demo proposals should include up to a one-page summary describing the demonstration. Please ensure that the demo proposal includes:
• Equipment required for the demo. The default demo set-up includes a single table, a large (at least 40-inch) monitor, and a multi-point power cable.
• Any additional requirements for the demo beyond the default, such as additional power, special environments and tools, Internet access, physical space requirements.
• Indicate whether an easel and poster board for displaying any related poster (default size 3x4 foot) in portrait mode is required.
Poster proposals should include up to a one-page summary describing the poster. The default poster set-up is an easel and poster board for displaying the poster (default size 3x4 foot) in portrait mode. Please indicate if a larger poster is to be produced.
Accepted abstracts will be selected for presentation and/or participation in the poster and demo session. At least one of the authors of each accepted abstract must attend the workshop.
A limited number of travel grants supported by the National Science Foundation are available.
