Medicine X created the stage upon which the most important and difficult stories were told. Medicine X | CHANGE will create the space from which the most important and difficult problems in health care will be discussed and practical real-world solutions will be developed in co-production with everyone who lives and works in our health care system.
Find new pathways to collaboration.
Have created a solution or resource and want to share what you know with others? Are working on a problem and need to recruit collaborators and expertise for help? Medicine X | CHANGE will provide you with powerful pathways to collaboration that will lead to new models of collaborative changemaking in health care.
Submission Guidelines
There are three type of tracks for Medicine X | CHANGE. We are organizing Medicine X | CHANGE around tracks that are designed to help empower our community toward collaborative changemaking in health care. To achieve that goal, our tracks are action-oriented around what the audience will achieve or gain through participation in sessions in those tracks. As you consider your proposal, consider which track fits best with your message.
Inspire me!
Challenge your audience to be inspired around a topic that you care about. Stories to provoke empathy and understanding of a problem. How will your presentation inspire your audience to action? How might it create empathy toward more effective partnership or problem solving?
Teach me!
Perhaps you’ve figured out how to do something and want teach others what you’ve learned. What new information will be learned, or new skill gained by your audience to help them create more effective collaborative changemaking in health care?
Collaborate with me!
In these sessions, people will present a problem they are seeking help with. They may also present an offer of help in the form of expertise or a solution they have created that has yet to find an application in health care. The purpose of this this track is to gain insights from the audience members themselves and foster pathways to collaboration. There may be time to work in co-production or give simple feedback.

Registration
Registration for Stanford Medicine X | CHANGE
Special registration rates will be available to individuals accepted to present at Stanford Medicine X | CHANGE. This will generally be a $50 discount off the currently available registration rate. All presenters must register for the Stanford Medicine X | CHANGE conference. Due to the limited size of our venue and the unique nature of our patient-partnered event, there are a limited number of lower-priced rebel rate tickets for 2019. These will be released first to those accepted presenters prior to our official registration opening. Please note our ticket prices reflect the total cost required to produce each Medicine X event. In 2017, Medicine X brought over 130 patient-partners to our Medicine X conferences, covering needs-based travel and lodging when required, in addition to registration fees. These important experts increase the value of our events for our delegates, and also increase the cost of our events over traditional medical education events that are not Everyone Included™.
Please review registration rates for our event before submission if you have any questions regarding cost of attendance.
We recognize the special needs of scholars from areas of work that are often underrepresented at medical conferences and offer special rates for those who can document a history of sustained involvement in medical humanities scholarship and a financial need for discounted registration rates to Medicine X | CHANGE. Please contact us if you require assistance with registration and are a Medical Humanities scholar who meets the criteria listed above.
Our Patient-Experts (ePatients)
Please note we have a patient-expert scholarship program that enables patient-experts to attend our events as part of a complete academic program that includes pre- and post-event mentorship and training. We value the unique expertise patient-experts bring to our event and the unique preparation and needs required to partner effectively with expert patients, or ePatients. Therefore, we do not offer complementary registrations or discounted patient rates outside of our patient-expert programs in order to provide the best experience possible to our patient-experts. If you would like to attend Medicine X | CHANGE as a patient expert under our scholarship program, we encourage you to apply when our applications open. Please join our Medicine X newsletter or email us at medicinex@stanford.edu to be notified when applications open.
